In contrast to knotted Oriental carpets, Turkish kilims are unique handwoven rugs without a pile. Instead of nodes they are produced with warp threads and a weft yarn. This original Turkish Balıkesir Kilim Rug was manufactured in Balıkesir in the north east of Turkey around 60 years ago. In order to make this kilim more durable it was professionally restored by The Orient Bazaar.
